The Philippines
The first HD Radio station began broadcasting in the Philippines on Nov. 9, 2005. Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo marked the historic occasion by saying: “For the first time in the Philippines, digital FM HD Radio is on the air, broadcasting clear and clean radio programming on 105.1 MHz.” Current Transmitter RFQs are pending that specify HD Radio transmitter operation.
