SamBoo First to Offer Complete Low-Cost, Low-Power
Shenzhen, China - October 8, 2008 -- SamBoo Infotech Ltd., a leading system solutions designer, announced today that it is offering full service from hardware and software design to certification and mass production of HD Radio products, leveraging Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ new SEMHDR100A/C200A low-cost, low-power chip. Leading the industry, SamBoo started working with Samsung’s module from the first engineering sample available in May 2008 and brought the first working prototype to customers in mid-June.
“We are in a very strong position to deliver HD Radio receiver solutions to our customers,” said YJ Lee, President of SamBoo Infotech. “Our experience with HD Radio hardware and software and our relationship with manufacturers give our customers a one-stop shop, a complete service.”
Jeff Jury, COO for iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer of digital HD Radio™ technology for AM and FM audio and data broadcasting, said, “SamBoo is an experienced HD Radio design house, with a strong track record of bringing HD Radio units through certification and mass production. It is aggressively bringing that experience to bear on the implementation of many new products. SamBoo was one of the first to integrate the latest HD Radio module. It had a fully functional, working prototype system weeks after they received the alpha sample module from Samsung.”
SamBoo adopted iBiquity Digital’s 2206 baseband interface protocol early, and the company has a wealth of experience in HD Radio interface protocols, including those supported by SDK 1.12, SDK 3.1, and SDK 3.2. In addition, SamBoo was the first to showcase a complete iTunes® Tagging system with the brand new HD Radio chipset using SDK 3.2. The core of that system consists of the next generation HD Radio module that incorporates the latest Samsung SHDR100A/200A HD Radio chipset. SamBoo plans to use module suppliers Samsung Electro-Mechanics and Kwang Sung electronics.
SamBoo has taken five HD Radio receivers to certification and launch. The company is experienced in the HD Radio Certification Process, allowing it to get products to mass production quickly. SamBoo’s HD Radio solutions include iPod/iPhone docking, and CD/DVD sound systems.
