Kensen Offers Complete Solutions For Next Generation HD Radioâ„¢ Products
Shenzen, China - October 8, 2008 - Kensen Technologies Ltd., a leader in integrated consumer electronics system designs, announced today that it is now offering HD Radio solutions with the next generation low-cost, low-power chipsets from Samsung Electro Mechanics (SEMHDR100A/C200A) and SiPort (SP1010), including an HD Radio module designed and developed in-house.
Kensen has launched several well-received HD Radio products in the market, including iPod®/iPhone® docking stations, based on the Texas Instrument DRi352 chipset. The company is now focusing on the latest chipsets from Samsung EM and SiPort.
“We are enthusiastic about offering our customers our new HD Radio products and services,” said Kenneth Wong, President of Kensen Technologies. “Our engineering experience, proximity to production, and ability to develop hardware, firmware and software from the ground up in house enable us to offer them competitively priced, high-performance and timely products.”
Jeff Jury, COO of iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer of digital HD Radio technology for AM and FM audio and data broadcasting, said, “Kensen, which has been a key development resource for HD Radio products since 2005, is a strong partner for us and for manufacturers. They are particularly adept at quickly bringing low-cost, high-quality and feature-rich HD Radio units to market to meet the growing demand for digital radios.”
“Kensen is well positioned to provide quick turn around times and competitive cost structures as a one stop total solution house for various types of HD Radio iPod/iPhone docking music systems based on the latest chipsets,” continued Jury. He also commented, “Their engineering team has excellent experience solving radio and RF related interference problems. What is more, Kensen is familiar with iBiquity’s Software Development Kits (SDK1.12, SDK3.1, SDK3.2, and SDK3.3) and the company’s vigorous HD Radio certification process.”
Both the Samsung and SiPort next generation chip sets enable a variety of innovative consumer features including conditional access, electronic program guide (EPG), surround sound, and iTunes® Tagging for HD Radio technology, which enables listeners to ‘tag’ songs they hear on the radio and buy them later via the iTunes store.
