Lincoln Mercury, Visteon and iBiquity to Showcase HD Radio™ Equipped Lincoln Navigator at NAB Radio Show

Seattle, WA, (September 12, 2002) - Lincoln Mercury, Visteon Corporation and iBiquity Digital have jointly developed and equipped a 2003 Lincoln Navigator with a Visteon prototype HD Radio™ receiver in order to showcase the latest advances in automotive design and on-board entertainment for attendees of the National Association of Broadcasters' Radio Show. The first major advancement in radio technology in nearly half a century, HD Radio technology is slated for commercial introduction next year using digital broadcasting to deliver CD-quality sound, crystal clear reception, and wireless data services. Both Ford and Visteon have agreements with iBiquity Digital, the sole developer and licenser of digital AM and FM radio in the United States, with Visteon already developing HD Radio capable OEM receivers for the 2004 model year.

"Consumers have made it clear they want improved in-vehicle audio. Visteon's development efforts in digital audio and MACH DSP add significant value for our customers and ultimately for consumers," said John Kill, Visteon Vice President of Product Development. "In addition to improving in-vehicle audio reception, this digital technology has the ability to provide driving information, such as weather and traffic updates."

"HD Radio technology is how consumers will receive increased sound quality and access to on-demand information in the home and cars," said Bob Struble, CEO of iBiquity Digital Corporation. "The idea of digital media entertainment can now extend itself to the average car buyer or home radio listener. The future of radio is here."

The National Association of Broadcasters' Radio Show runs September 12-14 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle, WA. During the show, Infinity Radio's KBKS 106.1 will be transmitting HD Radio technology for show attendees to experience first-hand the truly remarkable sound quality that HD Radio delivers.
