Buckley Radio Joins Leading Broadcast Groups in Accelerating Rollout of HD Radio Technology

PHILADELPHIA - National Association of Broadcasters Radio Show - September 21, 2005 - Buckley Radio announced today that it has joined the coalition of radio broadcast groups supporting digital HD Radio™ technology with a plan to convert the majority of its stations to digital over the next three years.

Today, four Buckley stations are licensed to broadcast with HD Radio technology: KWAV-FM 96.9 in Monterey, CA; WDRC-FM 102.9 in Hartford, CT; WOR-AM 710 in New York, NY; and WSEN-FM 92.1 in Syracuse, NY. Of this group, WOR is already broadcasting in digital, with the other stations expected to begin HD Radio broadcasts shortly.

“This commitment represents an investment in the future and underscores our belief in the ability of HD Radio technology to revolutionize AM and FM radio,” said Richard Buckley, president of Buckley Radio. “Our ability to leverage the HD Radio digital platform to deliver more news, information, and music programming at no additional charge to our listeners will provide a value that no subscription-based service can match.”

Robert Struble, President and CEO, iBiquity Digital Corporation, the sole developer and licensor of HD Radio technology, said, “As one of the earliest test stations, Buckley Radio’s WOR was a pioneer in HD Radio broadcasting and played an invaluable role in helping us evaluate and refine the technology. We are pleased to see that Buckley is further expanding its commitment to the future of digital AM and FM radio by accelerating HD Radio conversions across its network stations.”

Over 500 stations throughout the country have converted to HD Radio technology with 2,300 more in the process of launching on the new digital platform. In 2005, HD Radio receiver products will be available from: ADA, Alpine, Boston Acoustics, DaySequerra, Eclipse, JVC, Kenwood, Panasonic, Radiosophy, Rotel, Sanyo and Yamaha.
