WHAT: Hyundai Motor America has entered the digital HD Radio technology market. Its first offering is HD Radio technology as a factory-installed standard feature on navigation-equipped 2009 Genesis models. Hyundai aims to shatter premium automobile paradigms with the introduction of this new flagship vehicle. With capabilities and features comparable to the world’s leading premium sports sedans, Genesis will be offered at a starting price of $33,000, bringing first-class quality and style at a more affordable price point.

 

WHY:  HD Radio broadcasters deliver new and exciting extra channels on the FM dial, varied new programming options, data features and crystal-clear audio quality create a winning entertainment combination for Hyundai drivers. There are more than 1,700 radio stations broadcasting via HD Radio technology now with more 800 new HD2 and HD3 multicast channels on the air. These exclusive subscription-free channels digitally deliver a variety of new formats, for example, local artists, independent musicians, bluegrass, deep rock, world music, jazz, the Pride Channel and Teen Hits, and the recently launched ESPN HD Radio Network.

 

WHEN: Hyundai’s new flagship model, the Genesis, is slated to hit dealerships in July.
