HD Radioâ„¢ Telematics Highlighted at ITS World Congress

Columbia, MD – November 19, 2008 – Joseph D’Angelo, Vice President of Advanced Services for iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer of digital HD Radio technology for AM and FM broadcasting, will speak on Thursday at the ITS World Congress 2008, running from November 16 through the 20 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.

“New services such as real-time traffic and location-based information are rolling out today using the HD Radio platform,” D’Angelo comments. “The ITS World Congress is the ideal forum to discuss the technology’s capabilities and the advances we and our partners are making.”

Titled HD Radio Technology and Protocols: An Efficient Delivery Method for Infotainment and Telematics Content, D’Angelo’s presentation is part of the Thursday afternoon technology session How Vehicle Telematics Changes Society, moderated by Rudolf Meitzner from the Car 2 Car Communication Consortium.

In his presentation, D’Angelo will review HD Radio technology’s basic broadcast structure and the anatomy of HD Radio advanced application services. He will review HD Radio technology’s capabilities from the simplest program service data (station ID, song title and article, weather and other alerts) to multicasting and iTunes® Tagging to the HD Radio Data Transport Protocol and encryption scheme for conditional access services.
