The Power of HD Radioâ„¢ Technology On the Go Featured at 2009 NAB Radio Show

HD Radio Technology on the Go! – Visit Us at Booth #134

Live from the 2009 NAB Radio Show floor, iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer of digital HD Radio™ technology for AM and FM audio and data broadcasting, will present HD Radio technology on the go – a digital broadcast medium that now moves as fast as consumers do!

In July, Best Buy’s own Insignia brand unveiled the first portable HD Radio receiver – the Insignia NS-HD01. Priced under $50, the big-box retailer ushered in a new era for the digital technology. Earlier this month, Zune HD, Microsoft’s next-generation portable multimedia player became the second portable device featuring the enriching infotainment platform. With the backing of major consumer electronics players, it’s evident that the portable HD Radio market is gaining momentum in bringing a heightened audio experience to active consumers!

2009 marks a watershed year for HD Radio technology in reaching 85 percent of Americans with nearly 2,000 HD Radio stations where listeners can access 1,000 new HD2/HD3 channels. The HD2/HD3 multicasts span every musical taste and genre. Some of the most prevalent formats include BBC World Service, Classic Country, Classical, Comedy, Dance, Deep Tracks, Pride Radio and Smooth Jazz. For a full list of digital stations and HD2/HD3 multicasts around the country, visit www.HDRadio.com. To date, there are 13 vehicle brands backing the technology, representing 70 models, and also 14,000+ retailers carrying more than 100 different SKUs.
