Scion Announces HD Radioâ„¢ Technology Standard On 2013 FR-S Sports Car

The FR-S will come standard with an eight speaker 300-watt Pioneer Audio System including HD Radio Technology
  • What: Scion announced that HD Radio Technology will be standard in the 2013 FR-S compact sports car. The FR-S will come standard with an eight speaker 300-watt maximum output Pioneer™ audio system including HD Radio Technology. Scion previously announced that HD Radio Technology is a standard feature on all of its 2012 audio systems for the xB, xD, tC, and iQ models. The new Scion FR-S will arrive at dealerships this spring.
  • HD Radio Technology is or will be available as a factory installed feature from 23 automotive brands including Audi, Bentley, BMW, Cadillac, Ford, GMC, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, MINI USA, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Scion, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo.
  • Why: Automakers are continuing to embrace HD Radio Technology at a rapid pace, offering consumers a variety of new and exciting stations in crystal-clear digital sound, including on-screen information that displays song titles and artist names, and the popular iTunes® Tagging feature which enables listeners to tag songs for later download and purchase through iTunes. The recently launched Artist Experience feature is also growing very quickly as more broadcasters are supporting the feature and automakers are launching radios that display the artist images and station logos.
  • Today, there are over 2,300 AM & FM stations broadcasting with HD Radio Technology with more than 1,300 additional digital only FM HD2/HD3/HD4 multicast channels sending new exciting programming.
