HD Radio™ Technology Adds Nissan At The New York Auto Show
All major automakers in the U.S. now offer HD Radio Technology
with a wide range of subscription-free audio, traffic and data capabilities
HD Radio Technology now publicly announced from 35 auto brands and over 185 vehicle models with more than 90 models including digital receivers standard
Columbia, Maryland – April 24, 2014 – iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer of digital HD Radio Technology for AM and FM audio and data broadcasting, announced after the New York International Auto Show that 35 automakers offer or have plans to offer HD Radio Technology by the end of the year. The momentum continues as Nissan announced their first vehicle to include HD Radio Technology and Hyundai, Kia, Dodge, Jeep, Acura, and Subaru all announced new or refreshed vehicles with HD Radio Technology at the NY Auto Show.
- Nissan – Became the 35th automaker to announce HD Radio Technology availability. The all-new 2015 Murano will be the first Nissan vehicle to offer HD Radio Technology.
- Dodge – Announced that the 2015 Challenger and Charger will offer HD Radio Technology for the first time.
- Kia – Announced the new 2015 Sedona will offer HD Radio Technology for the first time.
- Hyundai – Introduced an all-new 2015 Sonata that will continue to offer HD Radio Technology.
- Jeep – Unveiled their new Renegade, which will be the third Jeep vehicle to offer HD Radio Technology.
- Subaru – Showed off the 6th generation 2015 Outback, which will now include HD Radio Technology as a standard feature.
- Acura – Announced the 2015 TLX that will offer HD Radio Technology.
HD Radio Technology is the digital evolution of AM and FM radio and delivers significant benefits for drivers: crystal-clear sound quality, song title and artist name; additional digital only local FM channels known as HD2/HD3 Channels; iTunes Tagging allows listeners to store song information with the touch of a button for later purchase and download through iTunes; Artist Experience which enables images that match the audio content to be displayed on the radio screen; and now, subscription free lifetime traffic and data information sent directly to a vehicles radio or navigation system. HD Radio Technology is subscription free broadcast radio.

A sampling of the formats on these extra channels, which vary in different markets around the country, include Dance/Electronica, Bluegrass Country, Comedy, Local Music, Chill/Coffee Shop Music, South Asian, Talk, News, and Sports, to name just a few.
35 automakers have now publicly announced plans to incorporate HD Radio Technology in 185+ models by year-end with more than 90 models featuring HD Radio receivers as standard equipment. 5 automakers utilize HD Radio Technology to deliver subscription-free Traffic & Data information to their vehicles.
